Snapshot - 2010 / Review
For the year of 2010 in review for my partner Rica and I was a busy time with the opening of SSR Streetwear Store in Jakarta during the month of June and time spent sourcing new products offshore and developing future SSR product ranges. More time was also spent looking for a new destination to open our new surf / skate store in West Java.
Surf wise was a bit hit and miss with some good days in July around West Java in Cimaja and Pangandaran but the consistent swells of previous years, did not really eventuate in 2010 due to a lack of storm activity in the Indian Ocean.
For the record Western Australia has just experienced it's driest winter rainfall period and Indonesia experienced unseasonal rainfall during the usual dry season months of June, July and August.
Fingers crossed that 2011 will produce a consistent year for surfing conditions throughout the Indonesian Archipelago.
We also hope that the people near the volcano of Merapi in Central Java, can quickly rebuild their lives after eruptions and landslides that hit the area recently, many people were also evacuated from this region.
If you have not already done so, please pledge a donation to the people of the Mentawai Islands who are slowly recovering after a series of strong earthquakes that has shaken the area and left a trail of destruction.

Finally for us it was also great to see our 12 month old daughter Ashika recover from serious heart and lung problems that she experienced during the year.We are very thankful for the services provided by Jakarta Children's Hospital ...
Seasons Greetings.
