Snapshot Mini Review - 2011

The year of 2011 has been another busy year at SSR and next year will be our 15 th year of business operation with the brand.Looking back it was a good year for surf throughout Indonesia. Overall a better year than 2010.This year there seemed to be a lot more groundswells during the months of May, June and July with plenty of punchy 4 - 8 ft swells and during October one of the biggest swells of the year hit the islands. There was plenty of waves, to keep the punters happy. Lets hope 2012 can roll on and bring more classic days to the archipelago.

If you are looking for some last minute Christmas ideas check out Surfing World publications they have four hardcover books available. Thrust the Simon Anderson story, Badlands returns to Wild Australia, The Ninth Wave which includes some great images and Archipelago searching the Islands of Indonesia.

Fighting Fear has just been released featuring Mark Mathews and Richie Vaculik and it descibes the story about mateship, hard roads and friends who have wound up as cell mates but backed each other to confront their worst fears and make something of their lives.

The film also features some crazy big wave surfing and cage fighting footage.

Anyway that wraps up everything  from us for the time being. Catch ya next year.
