Mid Year Update - 2013 ...
We are now at the half way point of 2013 and looking back, overall a very strange year indeed for waves in Indonesia. There have been some very good days for surf throughout the archipelago but quantity has been lacking and a lot of unseasonal rain, strange currents and strong cross shore winds have us believing that it will be a late season this year for good waves. The last wet season started in October 2012 and it has still been raining heavily until June 2013. Reports from other areas throughout Java, for example, have local surfers mentioning of heavy rain, thunderstorms, weird full tides and currents affecting many reef breaks and beachbreaks in the region. Maybe it is the start of an El Nino weather pattern for Indonesia only time will tell.
In other news congratulations to Joel Parkinson on winning the recent Oakley WCT event in Bali recently and we also managed to escape for a few days and go on a surf road trip to East Java. Anyway wherever you are peace out and enjoy the moment ...
