A Snapshot Review Indonesia Surf Season 2016

A look back at the surf season that was 2016 in Indonesia. Overall there were many good swells throughout the year and some of the contest events this year had really good surf conditions available for competitors. If there was one event which really did stand out this year it was the first ever event held in the Mentawai Islands in Sumatra, earlier this year in April that showcased surfers from the World Surf League - World Qualifying Tour. Competitors arrived in the remote island region and were faced with perfect waves for the WSL contest throughout the week at Lances Right.

Other stand out events were in Bali at Padang, Padang, for The Rip Curl Cup which scored good surf for the invitational field that was chosen.
